Sarah Silverman and robots rule, ya dig?

The Sarah Silverman program will be cancelled next season probably. Just watching the new season right now. Some episodes are too trippy. but last night I watched a fantastic one called: Just Breve. Steve and Brian wants to adopt a son, but figures they'll never get accepted, so Steve builds a robot son. Super episode, where Sarah is just a (black, don't ask) narrator.

Here's a video on making Breve the robot:

When is Iron Man 3D out?

The second feature from John Favreau in the Iron Man franchise delivers. The movie is full of bang, and you get what you expect for your buck. Mickey Rourke is great as a Russian fiend of Iron Man's, but something is missing.

I guess it is the little boys' fault. In order to make this a money maker, it can't be too violent to pass the "kids rating". Therefore, there is hardly no blood, no swearing, and definitely no hanky panky with Gwyneth or Scarlett. And after seeing a few features in 3D, Iron Man 2(D) definitely misses out on not being 3D. Imagine seeing Mickey Rourke walking towards you on the F1 course of Monaco, with explosions behind him, and cars and tires flying over your head. Now that woulda been something.
However, if you dig super hero movies, you won't be disappointed. But only in 2d, okay!

Phar Out, Pharrell!

I am a huge fan of Pharrell's music. Apparently he's working with design of furniture, together with a Paris furniture gallery. Well, it's fun to see him, check out that outfit, the hat, funny li'l moustache, red vest from RL with the gigantic Polo logo, and those Nike's... and the chair is awrite! (can't say I dig his style, really, but he sho' ain't borin'!)

Swords & Sandals on 'Roids

A pop cultural genre which refuses to die is what in Hollywood is labeled as "Swords & Sandals" movies and series. Gladiator from 2000 by Ridley Scott breathed new life into the genre which has been around since Michael Douglas' dad made movies. It also meant there were plenty of new scripts popping up for guys like Brad Pitt and Russell Crowe to appear in. Also the rise of cheaper and better 3D programs meant the mass battle scenes could be made with computers instead of bringing in tens of thousands of robe clad extras.

300 from 2006 by Zack Snyder tweaked up the genre even more, and supersized everything. More blood, super-choreographed slo-mo fight scenes and more pumped up bicepses and sixpacks than in a Stallone flick.

Well, you ain't seen nothing yet. TV network Starz, competing with HBO introduced series "Spartacus" this year. They proclaim it is the boldest show on TV, and they might just be right. Spartacus is just a piece of art. The script could be considered a bit banal, but it works fine, and keeps suspense and interest on top through the five episodes I've seen so far. I can summarize the series to these words, to give you an idea:
NUDITY. EXTREME VIOLENCE. SEX. SO MUCH BLOOD METAL BAND SLAYER WOULD FAINT. SEXY PUMPED DUDES. SEXY PUMPED CHICKS. BEAUTIFUL SCENERIES. AMAZING STUNTS IN SLO-MO. STATE-OF-THE-ART 3D AND AFTER EFFECTS WORK.
Okay, what else can you ask for?
(Do I want my kids to see it? HELL NO!)

Steeeep Stuff

I was just in Verbier skiing, we saw the face of the Freeride World Tour ski and snowbaord competition, man, I tell you, it is unbelievably steep. The face is called Bec de Roses, and if you fall here, you don't stop until the bottom. Craaazy stuff. Enjoy the video of Swedish winner Kaj Zachrisson. The music sucks, but the skiing is top notch:

Wu Tang/M Jackson/Keyes = Wow

Wow, brilliant, super duper hip hop over an old MJ song I've never heard. Top Notch! And Alicia Keyes, wotta voice!

Wut? Lady GaGa?

The video to new Lady GaGa single Telephone by Swedish director Jonas Akerlund is a feast for the eyes. The music isn't that interesting, but the video direction is top notch.
